At Blindly, privacy isn't a legal footnote — it is the entire premise of the product. People should be able to connect through thoughts, voice, and humor without being treated as inventory for advertisers. Here is how your information is handled.

1. Our Promise

We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent your email or phone number to data brokers, and we do not feed your conversations into advertising networks. Your thoughts, voice notes, and photos belong to you.

2. What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to create your profile and help you connect with others:

• Profile information: Your first name, age (you must be at least 18), your city, and your written answers to thought prompts.
• Media: Your profile photos (which are kept behind a blur until mutual reveal) and any voice notes you choose to record.
• Contact info: Your phone number or email, used solely for secure login and account verification.
• Technical signals: Approximate location (city level, to find nearby matches) and device info needed to deliver notifications and keep bad actors off the platform.

3. Photos & Voice Recordings

Traditional dating apps display unblurred photos to thousands of strangers immediately. Blindly does the opposite.

Your photos remain heavily blurred by default. They are only unmasked when you and your match have exchanged meaningful conversation, reached full depth, and both tapped reveal together. Your unblurred photo is never shown without your explicit tap.

Voice recordings are encrypted in transit and stored securely. They are only played to your matches or potential matches on your wavelength.

4. Profile Verification

To prevent catfishing and fake accounts, we offer an optional verified badge. If you choose to verify, we ask for a quick selfie video to confirm you match your photos. Once the check is done, the temporary verification video is deleted. We do not build biometric face databases.

5. How Data is Shared

We only share data with essential infrastructure providers who help us run the app — such as secure cloud hosting, SMS delivery for login codes, and payment processing through Apple and Google. These services operate under strict confidentiality agreements and cannot use your data for their own purposes.

6. Leaving Blindly

When you delete your account, your photos, voice notes, prompt answers, matches, and conversations are cleared immediately from our active databases.

You can delete your account from the app anytime, or online through our Account Deletion page.

7. Your Rights

No matter where you live, you have the right to request a copy of the information we have about you, correct any mistakes, or ask for your account and data to be permanently erased.
